Augustana University Center for Western Studies is currently recruiting for a full-time Education Assistant. The schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
This position has the responsibility of assisting with all education programs, including the Artists of the Plains Art Show and Sale, Dakota Conference, Boe Forum on Public Affairs, gallery exhibits, and book publications. This position also assists with internships, college courses, workshops, promotion, outreach, membership development; and assists in developing educational and informational materials. In addition, this position reserves exhibit space and works festivals, conferences, and meetings to showcase educational materials; contacts book distributors and makes personal calls on retailers in Sioux Falls and throughout the region to inform them of CWS educational materials; and contacts schools, churches, retirement communities, cultural organizations, and Augustana faculty to schedule and lead tours of the gallery and museum.
B.A. degree or equivalent experience is required; museum or gallery experience preferred. Demonstrated problem-solving skills; excellent communication skills, experience with Microsoft Office Suite; experience in creating spreadsheets and basic graphic design skills to communicate information is essential.
