    Promote, preserve and enhance the educational, cultural, and recreational opportunities at the D.C. Booth Historic NFH and National Fish and Aquatic Conservation Archives. This includes working in the collection (primary duty), accommodating the public at venues, assisting with special events and outreach efforts.

    Main duties are assisting the Archives program by working collaboratively with the curator and archives volunteers in routine archives work (cataloging objects, processing archives materials - this will be the bulk of the work) while assisting with research projects and lending a hand with other activities as needed in both the collection and museum and on the fish hatchery grounds. The intern will apply their skills working with historical material in ongoing research projects, assisting with exhibit redesigns, prepping, cleaning and caring for historic building venues that are open to the public, and assisting with general collection care duties such as pest control, environmental monitoring, etc. The intern will work collaboratively to draft and release up to 40 social media posts related to these projects and possibly write a few feature articles about artifacts, archival materials or the historic buildings onsite.

    Other duties may include helping with fish culture work and grounds maintenance.

    An understanding of archives and museum collections as well as basic knowledge and interest in history and conservation, attention to detail, along with strong written and verbal skills are required.

    This position provides:
    - $600/week Living Allowance
    - $1,100 one-time Travel Allowance
    - Housing accommodations will be leased by SCA.
